Let's discuss.
What is uncertainty?
When you are not certain about the occurence of an event , then it is called as uncertainty.
Uncertainty is the bitter but exciting truth of life.
Why exciting?
I would like to explain this with the help of an analogy.
When you enjoy a movie most , when watching it for the first time or when watching it for second or third time.
Ofcourse first time , that's because when watching it for first time you are curious for the events that are going to occur there , is an uncertainty , but when watching for the second time you are certain about the events. Which diminishes the joy of watching that movie.
Similar is with life , you will enjoy it most when things are uncertain.
Benefits of Uncertainty -
The benefits that uncertainty brings in our life are as follows-
• Joy-
As explained earlier uncertainty brings the very important ingredient of life joy. As we should always cherish each and every moment of our life.
• Hope -
Hope is very important for a person.
Tell me , if you know that you are going to fail in a task , then you will ever try to doit.
In most of the cases answer will be no. Uncertainty brings hope to our lives. Hope to do better should always be alive in a person.
• Innovation lies in uncertainty.
Uncertainty is a crucial part of innovation.
As , Thomas Alva Edison failed for thousands of time in the process of making an electric bulb in the hope that he will succeed.
If he would have certain for any intermediatory step that he is going to fail then he wouldn't have tried and we all would have been sitting in dark.
• Uncertainty helps us to enjoy the process than the result.
When results are uncertain then we try to improvise , and try to achieve betterment , which eventually helps us to enjoy the process. But if we know the results then we are nothing more than a machine.
• Learning-
Uncertainty is what helps us to learn. When because in a task there are not just two outcomes , that is success and failure , there is also a third outcome that is learning. We learn from our failures. But if things would have been certain , then , we would avoid doing things which we are going to fail. The process of failing but learning will extinct.
Which will eventually stop our evolution.
Uncertainty explained in our culture
In Bhagawad Gita , Lord Krishna himself preached us ,
" Karma karo fal ki chinta mat karo. "
Which means we should only focus on the work not on the results.
As result is not really in our hands. It's uncertain that whether we are going to succeed or fail but it should not effect our process of work.
Uncertainty and faith-
In today's busy world we don't want to waste our time in doing stuff which are not going to give sweet fruits.
We all want to do things which are certain in giving results. But that's not how life works.
Life walks along with uncertainty.
If everything would have been certain there was no need for " faith" . We all have faith because the results are uncertain. If everything would have been certain then life would simply become binary either 0 or 1 , but life is much more than that . We can't really put a limit to it.
